Let's go fly a kite

It was very windy last week! Rene and the boys decided to take advantage of it and go fly their new kites that the Easter Bunny brought them.

Yes, my kids wear socks with their wanna-be Crocs. That's just the way we roll.

Egg Hunt Revolution Style

Once again Revolution put on an amazing event. I love the egg hunt and it holds a special place in my heart.

Five years ago I took the boys to a free pancake breakfast and egg hunt. Matthew was almost 4, Justin just turned 2, and I was five months pregnant. I really liked the people there and convinced Rene that we should check out this nice church the following week.

It was different, something we had never experienced before and we made the commitment that we would try again the following week. Actually, the pastor was giving out little trinkets to go along with the message and we were curious to see what we would get the next week.

Now, five years later, I'm at the egg hunt with Matthew who is almost 9, Justin who just turned 7, and once again I am five months pregnant. God has taken us on a crazy journey over the past five years and I am excited to see what He has planned over the next five years.

Spring in in the air at the Uribe household

The spiders are starting to spin their webs.

We planted some root vegetables to see how they grow.

Our "dinosaur plant" is growing.

Our seeds are starting to sprout.

Our caterpillars are starting to spin into chrysalis and will soon hatch into Painted Lady butterflies.

Oh yeah, and I'm 18 weeks pregnant! This picture if for you Jeannie!

The maze

Matthew and Justin created a maze on our driveway with sidewalk chalk. Where does the maze end? McDonalds of course!

Tanaka Farms

We joined a local CSA (consumer supported agriculture)a couple of weeks ago. Our produce is from Tanaka Farms in Irvine. Every Wednesday they deliver fresh produce boxes to a park in Long Beach. I've been having a hard time taking prenatals so I'm hoping to get all of my nutrition from the food I am eating. My goal is to make sure we eat up all the food before our next delivery. Sometimes it's a challenge, especially finding ways to eat food we are not used to. I have discovered that I enjoy beets and the boys really like the spinach.

I was worried that going organic was going to make our food budget sky rocket but it hasn't. Our food budget is a tad bit higher but I think thats due to the fact that I need a lot more protein in my diet.

Pirate Dinner Show

A couple of weeks ago we had a birthday celebration at the Pirate Dinner show. Nathan turned 10 and Jeremy turned 5. The boys enjoyed the show and my sister and I had fun goofing off in the back.
